Two Important Volvo XC90 Safety Features

With the arrival of the new Volvo XC90 on the lot here at Smithtown Volvo Cars, we wanted to take a minute to highlight a few safety features that make this popular luxury SUV the vehicle to own again this year.

The Volvo XC90 has a Lane-Keeping System for being able to detect if the vehicle slowly begins drifting out of the lane lines. If the vehicle slowly crosses over the line, sensors send a pulse to the steering wheel to alert the drive to recognize the position and take action quickly.

The Adaptive Cruise Control system in the Volvo XC90 is activated when you select the desired cruising speed. The sensors use radar to locate a lead vehicle, then maintain that buffer zone by either automatically slowing or speeding up. If the vehicle has to slow, it will resume that cruising speed once the buffer is clear with the car ahead.
